Trueness to Self

When you say, “I would love to work for you!” Do you mean it? Is it true?

A huge part of being a dancer is seeking opportunity. You carve the path to your own true artistic expression, and also to a sustainable livelihood. That said, there are many reasons why you might choose an opportunity, whether for fulfillment of time, wallet, or spirit.

The key is knowing for which reason you are taking a certain route at a certain time, and all the while listening to what is going on inside the deepest, truest core of yourself. To judge an opportunity on prestige rather than on whether it is right for you is to miss an opportunity for trueness to self.

Beauty is in diversity, and following a trend is a real shame if it means you don’t tune-in deeply with yourself first. What feels exciting? what doesn’t? What is your voice? You might miss an opportunity to find your own beautiful uniqueness out of desire to live THE dream.

It is not THE dream you seek…

It is YOUR dream.
