Contact and messages

The journal’s contact form asks for a name, email address, subject and message so that the editor can respond to an enquiry. The configured destination is armando@interviewenlair.com.

Enquiry emails are deleted after the enquiry has been handled.

Deleting a handled enquiry from the editor’s mailbox is separate from retention in mail-provider backups, website backups and technical logs.

Comments and spam checks

Comments form part of the journal’s public archive. The comment form requires a name and email address; registration is not required. Your comment and display name can be published. The email field is not displayed with the comment attribution.

Akismet, an Automattic service, checks comments for spam. The installed privacy guidance describes processing the comment and submitted identity/contact information together with technical details such as IP address, browser information and referring page. Read Automattic’s visitor privacy notice.

Comment images

Some comment images are supplied by Gravatar, also operated by Automattic. Gravatar requests use an identifier derived from the commenter’s email address. Loading an external avatar connects the browser to Gravatar’s servers. Some contributor images are stored locally instead. Read Gravatar’s privacy information.

Embedded videos

The current video drafts use embedded YouTube players. The players connect to Google/YouTube when the page loads, before Play is pressed. External watch links open YouTube directly. Google’s privacy policy describes its processing.
